Something Tenthirteen is very proud of is our longstanding partnership with Gulf Helicopters in Doha, Qatar. Together we have become one of the leading suppliers of equipment, crew and aerial co-ordination services in the region, working in Qatar, UAE, Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia amongst others.
We were delighted to be invited back, for the fourth year running, as the aerial co-coordinator and equipment supplier for the first two events on the International Cycling Union’s (UCI) calendar – The Tour of Qatar and The Tour of Oman .
Both events had the top riders in the field and coverage was well received worldwide. Of course we were extremely pleased with Chris Frome’s overall victory – for the second year running, in the Tour of Oman and it was great to be there, filming him crossing the finish line. For this Tour, Tenthirteen co-coordinated the temporary importation of the helicopter from Dubai into Oman for the race. This was achieved by working closely with our contacts at the Muscat Municipality and the Oman and UAE Civil Aviation Authorities. There was a lot of challenging flying and filming over both beautiful desert and mountainous terrain for this key sports event. We have a developed an excellent working relationship with all the authorities – and the military, in the region which enables us to provide turnkey solutions for our clients with the minimum of worry.
After a month in the Middle East, it was back to the UK for a catch up on what was happening at home.
